Sourcing and Supplier Management

Building stronger IT supplier relationships

At the heart of any supplier management initiative, or associated sourcing strategy we believe their is the simple maxim,  - it’s all about the relationships.   If only because resources are limited, no company can afford to have strong relationships with all of its IT suppliers, so deciding which of them are most important, enables a clear understanding of the critical and non-critical,  and allows the CIO to focus efforts accordingly.  Building higher-value relationships, for most companies, often means changing behaviours, and the way they communicate with their supplier. We’ve both seen and experienced the situation where a company has damaged their relationships with their  suppliers by withholding information and regular feedback,  and by behaving inconsistently, which sends mixed messages about the type of relationship they truly desire.

How we can help

Our supplier management specialists have worked in both camps - customer and supplier.  They understand the challenges and demands that both sides are constantly juggling, and are able to help you to develop a supplier engagement and management approach that addresses these issues for the benefit of both parties. By helping you to address four basic  areas; Real clarity on expectations, willing involvement of senior management, sharing of information and fact based feedback mechanisms - the quality of your supplier relationships can be enhanced.
